Adam Richard Wiles, better known as Calvin Harris, is a successful DJ, singer, songwriter and producer in the music industry. Harris holds the record for the most top ten hits from one
studio album on the UK Singles Chart with nine hits, surpassing Michael Jackson. Not only is he a successful artist within his own right, he has written songs for various artists including Rihanna, Dizzee Rascal, Example and more.
Calvin Harris performs within the electronic sub genre of pop. Many of his products also fall into the house, synthpop and dance categories.
Calvin Harris mainly uses the keyboard or a synthesiser to produce his electronic music and also provides the vocals for his tracks. He first was seen in the public eye after he co-produced two songs with Dizzee Rascal which both made it to number 1 in the UK charts in 2008 and 2009.
Harris hasn't been at the centre of any controversy other than a 'surprise' appearance during an X-Factor performance apparently crashing one of Jedward's big live performances.
It is due to his success in the electronic and dance sub-genres that it's been said that he has influenced similar modern artists such as Deadmau5, Swedish House Mafia and Skrillex.
