Planning- Treatment III

We have decided to alter our treatment ONCE AGAIN!

After another target audience meeting about the treatment and discussing amongst ourselves how we would go about filming our new story, we came to the conclusion that it was not a good idea. We felt that we wouldn't enjoy filming said situations and wanted to do something more conventional within the 'dirty pop' genre.

We came up with the following treatment synopsis:

Awakening in her bed fully clothed after a crazy night out, we steadily discover the antics of a young female con-artist as she pieces together the nights events and prepares herself for another day at work.

Planning- Treatment II

We have decided to alter our treatment after a meeting with a member of our target audience. She pointed out that despite the characters life being a mess, no artist would present themselves taking drugs. However, if the artist was in a very emotional situation, we could build a powerful narrative to go along with the story. We would hope nobody in the audience is able to personally relate to the treatment but can empathise with her and think how they would be able to cope in such situations. We also agreed that the concept of the song was very similar to the one in the official video. We asked ourselves and the target audience member the following question:

What reason does the artist have to go out partying every night and come back in such a mess? What is so bad that she has to pretend to be someone else at work but a party animal at home?

We came up with the following treatment synopsis:

Vaguely remembering events from the previous night (again), we follow the story of a young girl who is battling depression in a household of domestic violence. In an attempt to forget her troubles, she goes hard on the town after work getting very drunk, partying and causing mayhem.

At the start of the video, we will see her preparing for another day at work. This involves getting out of bed, dressing and washing last nights makeup off and putting fresh layers on/over the top. She covers her black eye and bruises with makeup and is about to leave when her boyfriend sees her. They argue about her bad habits and about him always harming her until he hits her once more. She runs out and goes work where she receives yet more grief from her superiors and just about makes it out before boiling over. When she gets back home, she prepares for her evening in which she intends to spend indulging heavily in alcohol, spending what little money she has on junk food and flirting/making out with strangers to forget the misery she is feeling. She returns in the early hours of the morning the following day in her party clothes and falls asleep. When her alarm goes off just a few hours later, the cycle all over again.

Planning- Treatment

After a group discussion, we have come up with the following treatment synopsis for our music video:

Vaguely remembering events from the previous night (again), we follow the day's events of a young girl battling depression and drug problems as she struggles day-by-day to cope with normal life without a loved one.

At the start of the video, we will see her preparing for another day at work. This involves getting out of bed, dressing and washing last nights makeup off and putting fresh layers on/over the top. She then adjourns to work where she receives yet more grief from her superiors and just about makes it out before boiling over. When she gets home, she prepares for her evening in which she intends to spend indulging heavily in alcohol/drugs, spending what little money she has on junk food and flirting/making out with strangers. Upon her return to her home in the early hours of the morning, she falls into bed with yet another man. When her alarm goes off just a few hours later, she starts the cycle all over again.
